Hello… I guess…
I'm going to start by admitting that I doubt anyone will actually be reading this. I not famous nor posses the ambition to become it. I'm far from being a word smith or one who can inspire revolution through rousing insight. I hover currently hover on the unsurety of whether I really want to start writing here due to the chance someone actually reads these words.
So why am I doing this…
Well I have thoughts and opinions on the things I enjoy. While I know in the grand scheme of things these thoughts and opinions will bring little barring to most, I am driven to get them onto this digital paper. Maybe I lied before, I do have some ambitions. But mine are simple ones that revolve around my family and hobbies. Perhaps by placing them is here, I can generate discussion and encouragement. Surely there must be someone who is interested in juggling act of family and hobby.
So who am I…
My life can be separated into three different roles: family, work, and hobby.
First and foremost, the role within my family is the most important. My wife and three kids are the reason that I suffer work and limit hobby time. For those who debate if there can be a happy medium between hobby and family, consider me a success story. Hopefully in later posts I can convince you of this.
Work, well the less mentioned the better. Let’s leave it at the following description: long hours, long commute, high responsibilities, low rewards, and just over all culprit for inducing stress. Perhaps the best thing that I can say about it is I manage to enjoy a number of podcasts while on the highway.
And finally, hobby! The meat of what this blog is all about. I have many hobbies, to the strain of my wallet and smirk from my wife. The simple label is geek, but that is so cliche. Besides, everyone knows there are a billion ways to geek. My particular interests include, video gaming, retro gaming collecting, comic books, roleplaying, wargaming, hobby gaming, movies, and books.
Which brings us to the purpose here...
All of the above interests and more will feature on this blog. Some posts will be retrospective in nature while others may be semi-reviews. I'll keep you up to date on where my hobbies take me, while also hinting at where I want them to take me. On that account I hope that I can get some encouragement and opinions from you! I am betting that if you reach this for in the post than we might just happen to share some brain waves.
So, thank you for making it this far into this introduction. I hope you save this microscopic piece of the internet for further visits. I will always enjoy the company!
